Farewell Message for Fr. Mark Hoc Kieu and Tim Sbranti

Dear St. Raymond Community,

As we enter a season of transition, we pause with full hearts to express our deep gratitude to two individuals whose presence, dedication, and service have profoundly shaped our parish: Fr. Mark Hoc Kieu and Tim Sbranti.

Transitions are never easy, especially when they involve saying goodbye to people who have walked closely with us, prayed with us, and helped strengthen the fabric of our community. Yet moments like these also invite us to reflect on the blessings we have received—and to honor the impact of those who have given so much of themselves.

To Fr. Mark:
For seven years, you have served St. Raymond with humility, joy, and a heart rooted deeply in Christ. You have worshiped with us, guided us, and shared in the life of our parish with unwavering devotion. Your gratitude, your perseverance in ministry, and your openness in acknowledging your journey—especially in learning and proclaiming the Gospel in a new language—have inspired us more than you know. We are grateful for your kindness, your gentle spirit, and the countless ways you have brought God’s love to our community. As you begin your new assignment at St. Anne in Union City, please know that our prayers go with you, and that you will always remain part of the St. Raymond family.

To Tim:
Your leadership of our CYO program has been nothing short of transformative. What began as a small handful of teams has grown into a thriving, joyful, and dynamic ministry for our youth—thanks to your vision, dedication, and passion. You have given our young people a place to grow, compete, and belong, and you have done so with the same commitment to service that has marked your distinguished public career. We are deeply grateful for the years you have poured into this program and for the positive, lasting impact you have made on our parish community. As you step into your next chapter, we send you forward with appreciation and warmest wishes.

Though their paths now lead in new directions, the contributions of both Fr. Mark and Tim will continue to shape our parish for years to come. Their service reminds us that every transition, while bittersweet, is also a testament to the good that has been done and the lives that have been touched.

May God bless them abundantly in the journeys ahead—and may we, as a parish, continue to build upon the foundation they helped strengthen.

With gratitude and affection,

Victor Martinez
