St. Raymond Parish Community welcomes our new parochial administrator Fr. Erick Villa as of April 2, 2020!

Father John Erick Tabago Villa was born in Mandaluyong, Philippines in 1982. His seminary journey began at the Lorenzo Mission Institute, the missionary seminary of the Archdiocese of Manila, in 2003 after he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of the Philippines. Taking a break in formation for about four years, he worked as a Business Development Manager.

In 2012, Father Erick was accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Oakland. He continued his formation at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Sacred Theology and a Masters Degree in Divinity in 2016.

Father Erick was ordained priest by Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ on May 13, 2016 and served as parochial vicar at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Brentwood for almost four years. His ordination taking place on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima and his first assignment as priest are provident, given his strong devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Currently, Father Erick is actively involved in the Cursillo Movement, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Magnificat SOTI and Legion of Mary as Spiritual Director. He is also the Executive Director of the Marian Conferences hosted in Brentwood and the Fundraising Committee Chair of the inaugural Diocesan Eucharistic Congress to be convened by Bishop Barber in June 2020.

He comes to St. Raymond’s with a heart filled with joy and excitement for the unfolding of graces and blessings together with the congregation of this parish.
