God, please give to your Church today
many more priests after your own heart.
May they be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd.
May they wholeheartedly devote themselves to prayer and penance;
be examples of humility and poverty;
shining models of holiness;
tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God;
zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments.
May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist
and to Mary his Mother
be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry.

Saint John Vianney, whose feast day is August 4, is also known as the Curé d’Ars. He is considered the patron saint of parish priests and is known for his deep devotion to the Church and his dedication to the sacrament of confession. His life inspires all priests, as he exemplified a genuinely holy priest through his humility, selflessness, and unwavering faith.

Let us pray for all the priests, especially Fr. Mark Ruiz and Fr. Mark Hoc, that they may be strong in their vocation and help them to be instruments of divine grace.
