BLESSING OF CANDLES, FEB 1 (Vigil Mass) & Feb 2 (All Masses)

Bring your candles to be blessed after each Mass. Feast of the Presentation introduces Jesus as the Light. The burning candle symbolizes His abiding presence in the midst of the Christian community.

Note, between now and Thursday, January 30, candles will be available for purchase at the Parish Office. Supply is limited.

BLESSING OF THROATS, FEB 3rd

Time: After the homily at 8:30 AM and 12:15 PM Mass

The annual blessing of throats is a traditional sign of the struggle against illness in the life of the Christian. This blessing is ordinarily given on February 3, the memorial of Saint Blaise, by touching the throat of each person with two candles blessed on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and which have been joined together in the form of a cross.
