This weekend is Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles in the upper room. They were filled with the spirit and empowered to speak in different languages to spread the word of God. After a sermon by Peter, the First Pope, 3,000 people were baptized starting the ministry of the Church.
It is also a perfect weekend to have the Sacrament of Confirmation. This Sunday at the 5:00 PM Mass, we are overjoyed to welcome 57 teens as they are fully confirmed into our community of faith. For the past two years, these young men and women have dedicated themselves to a journey of prayer, discernment, and service, answering God’s call to live as disciples of Jesus. During the rite, each candidate will be called by the name of a saint they have chosen to emulate, symbolizing their commitment to follow in those holy footsteps. Please keep these teens in your prayers as they reach this beautiful milestone in their lifelong journey of faith.
