This past Friday, I had the opportunity to attend the Diocesan Elementary School Staff Day at the Cathedral. It was a great experience. I came across many of the colleagues I served with when I was a teacher here in the Diocese. It was a great reunion!
The Sisters of Life were present, and one of the Sisters gave an interesting presentation. Later in the day, we were blessed to have the Sisters of Life here at Saint Raymond for our Pro-Life event. It was an enriching and powerful experience, which included an overnight Adoration. I want to thank all who worked hard to make this event possible.
The Sisters of Life give me hope. In the midst of the tragedies that have taken place in our country these past few weeks, the senseless disregard for human life, I know there is still deep regard and respect for life, shown especially by the beautiful witness of the Sisters of Life.
Here is the mission statement of the Sisters of Life, which I invited us to reflect upon: “We believe that every person is valuable and sacred. We believe that every person is good, loved, unique, and unrepeatable. We believe that every person’s life has deep meaning and worth.”
Love,
Father Mark Ruiz
