Special Message from Fr. Erick

I am en route to the Philippines as I write this particular message. Initially just intended for a short Easter break, it turned out to be a special moment to say my last respects to my uncle (the brother of my father) who passed away a few days ago, and whose funeral vigil I am blessed to preside at on April 9, upon arrival in Manila, also my 42nd birthday.

I cannot begin to imagine how heart-breaking this must be for my grandmother who is turning 96 years old in a few days, but I hope that at least with me celebrating the Mass in memory of her first born would bring a little more comfort and joy amidst the sadness and tears.
Please pray for my uncle, Alfredo Sr. – for the eternal repose of his soul – and for peace and consolation to the rest of the family.

I will be back this weekend. Please know that I am thankful for all your birthday greetings last week, including the plaza cupcake fellowship which I totally enjoyed!!!

Fr. Erick
