Vigil Mass With Bishop Michael Barber at 5PM on Saturday, June 12

The excitement is in the air as the celebration of our 60th Parish Anniversary continues with the inaugural Youth Conference today and tomorrow; and culminates with the Vigil Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael Barber at 5PM on Saturday.
As I get ready for this amazing and definitely BLESSED weekend, I look around my office and see many things which remind me of God’s providence as we celebrate our parish anniversary: the picture of the 10-foot monstrance from Hidalgo, Mexico on my laptop screen, the orange staff shirt, red lanyard and lime green wristband for the Youth Conference, the 60th year commemorative book, the copy of the bio of Paul J Kim, the ceremonial for the Bishop’s Mass, the boba and chocolate donuts; and the ten thousands things which still need attention. But I remind myself to pause, and know that there is an entire team of empowered women and abled men, seasoned and new, who are always ready to help make everything fun and meaningful! Kudos to the members of the 60th Anniversary Steering Committee, the Youth Conference Team, and all our collaborators throughout the entire series of events we had for the anniversary inspite of the pandemic!

We owe it to our pioneers – living and deceased – to continue what they have started. We owe it to our young people today to support, empower and enable them so they continue to have a solid foundation in the great task of building up God’s Kingdom – not in the future, but today! And we owe it to God to do what we can, to the best of our abilities, to redound everything we do to His greater glory!

Father Erick
